What is the difference between Skill and Wins?
Skill and Wins serve different parts of +1 Stone Skipping's progression. The official description connects Skill, training and levels with farther throws, while reaching farther zones earns more Wins. Track training progress separately from the reward balance so you can decide whether to train or work toward a shown unlock.
The official bounce rule is +1 Skill for each bounce. It is not a published conversion from Skill to meters, levels to Wins or time to earnings. We have not verified a full progression equation, and the comparison tool does not predict those values.
What each observation can tell you
| Target | Read | Use it for | It does not prove |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wins | Balance before and after the reward | Wins gained by that completed throw | Income per minute without a timing test |
| Skill | Before/after Skill display | Training progress under the current setup | A fixed distance formula |
| Level | Level and progress toward the next level | Whether a displayed level requirement is met | Your available Wins budget |
| Reached zone | Zone reached by a completed throw | The practical reach of that setup | A reward multiplier for every later zone |
Make a comparable throw record
Snapshot the setup
Record the level, Skill display, equipped throwable, equipped pets and active effects. Note when a timed effect is about to end so you do not compare different boost conditions.
Read the starting Wins balance
Use the displayed balance rather than memory. Avoid making a purchase or claiming another reward during the measurement, because either can obscure the throw's change.
Finish the throw
Record the reached zone and the final Wins balance after the result appears. Keep any distance unit exactly as displayed; do not substitute an estimated distance from the visual animation.
Repeat before drawing a conclusion
Compare multiple throws with the same setup. If a level or boost changes between them, label the record accordingly rather than attributing the difference to an equipment choice.
How should you calculate a reward change?
The observed Wins gain is the final displayed Wins balance minus the starting balance, provided no other reward or purchase intervened. This is a bookkeeping method using your own session values, not a game reward formula. The unit is Wins and the observation applies only to the setup and completed throw you recorded.
If a compact display rounds the balance, keep the rounded notation and mark the difference as approximate. Do not turn a rounded display into a precise claim. To compare earnings over time, you would also need elapsed time and a consistent start-and-stop rule; one impressive throw cannot establish a universal farming rate.
When should you train instead of saving Wins?
Train when your current practical limit is reaching the next zone or meeting a displayed level requirement. Save and track Wins when you already have a specific, affordable unlock in mind and the live menu identifies its price and currency. These are decision rules based on your goal, not a claim that one route is always fastest.
If the next step is unclear, use the homepage's Earn progress filter. It places Skill and Wins side by side without treating them as interchangeable. Once you can name the limit, switch to the upgrade guide or rebirth guide for the next decision.
Progress questions
Why is my Skill gain different from +1?
The official description advertises +1 Skill per bounce, and also describes pet boosts and stronger progression. Check the effects and gains shown in your own session. This wiki has not verified the stacking order or a current multiplier formula.
Does more Skill guarantee an exact distance?
No exact Skill-to-distance equation has been verified here. Use the reached zone and the distance displayed by a completed throw to compare your own setup.

The opening recording separates the Skill objective at 0:05–0:25 from the Wins objective at 0:30–0:45. This supports reading them as separate tutorial goals, not a measured conversion rate. Historical UI observations were checked against timestamped frames on October 5, 2026. This is a community recording, not a test of today's server or verification of its code claims.
